About Central Campus

Central Campus is our larger location, averaging around 300-400 people attending on Sunday mornings. It offers a contemporary worship service feel with a subtle yet helpful liturgy to rehearse the Gospel story each week through singing, prayer, preaching of the Word, and more.

Kids and Youth
Central Campus offers Sunday morning programming (Sunday School) for babies through 8th Graders most weeks. Our curriculum is rooted in the Bible and helps engage each age level in appropriate ways.

Adult Bible Fellowship
Central Campus offers two regularly recurring Adult Bible Fellowship classes that happen after the service from 11 AM-12 PM.
  • Ambassadors is a group of primarily adults dedicated to studying the Word, prayer, and supporting missions together.
  • Internationals is a group of all ages dedicated to cross-cultural discipleship through Bible study and prayer.

Plan Your Visit

Attending a church for the first few times can be intimidating, so we hope these FAQs help you prepare for Sunday and make your experience as comfortable as possible. You can always contact us if you have questions:

There’s no dress code and we’re generally very casual. If you feel like wearing a suit, go ahead, and if you feel like wearing a t-shirt and jeans, that’s great too. Just be yourself.

If you are the type of person that gets chilly in a movie theater, you might consider bringing a light jacket.

We have a large parking lot right on site that is completely free! You can access it from Foster Road, or if you’re coming from downtown Iowa City, you can access it via Taft Speedway.

We have a Family Check-In station located to the back and left as you come in the front doors. Our Check-In Assistants will help you find the right room for your kids and provide security name tags for them.

Kids programming for ages birth through 5th grade is available during the 9:45 AM service. You can learn more about our Kids’ programming here.

Junior High students (6th-8th grade) are welcome to join our Sunday morning youth programming. They typically sit together during the music portions of the main worship service and leave during the sermon for an age-appropriate lesson with our Student Ministries staff. You can learn more about our Students’ (6th-12th grade) programming here.

If you prefer, children are always welcome in the service, and we often have activity bags available.

Yes! We offer complimentary coffee, tea, water, and hot cocoa every week in the Lobby. You can bring your coffee into the auditorium with you, we just request you use a lid to reduce spills.

The service lasts about 65-70 minutes and includes time for singing, prayer, and a message from the Bible. On occasion, there are special elements in the service such as water baptism, highlighting community impact efforts, and kids’ moments among others.

Our music style is a blend of contemporary and traditional Christian music. Typically, our band includes a piano and/or keyboard, acoustic, electric and bass guitars, drums, and two to four vocalists. We project the lyrics to each song on large screens above the stage, encouraging the congregation to sing and worship the Lord. You can check out our "Sunday Songs" playlist on YouTube to get a feel for the types of songs we sing.

Our weekly message is based on a passage from the Bible with real-life application and an emphasis on the core values of Christianity. We typically work through one book of the Bible at a time instead of sharing topical messages.

We have a culture of connection at Parkview, and our people love to linger. If you’d like, you can linger in the auditorium or out in the Lobby, or you can scoot out as soon as you’re ready.

If you brought kids, you’ll pick them up from their classrooms.

If you need prayer or have questions following the service, we always have a few church leaders available at the front of the Worship Center to help you.

We hope to see you again next week!

Our church is affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) and we affirm their Statement of Faith. You can read more about that here.
