Parkview Preschool
A Christian Preschool is a very effective agency for teaching Christian love through example and experience.

Parkview Preschool childrenPhotos are guided to discover the world around them and learn through hands-on experiences. They are encouraged to follow directions, show consideration, and develop skills at their own rate in a developmentally appropriate way. Through play, each child will develop physically, socially, intellectually and emotionally. Students are encouraged to solve problems, use their skills, and discover their place in the world as they begin to understand the role of others.

The Program

The morning includes centers, story time, Bible story, music, snack and recess. During centers, children have the opportunity to choose writing, reading, math, and fine motor activities. They can also play at the light table, drama center, sensory table, and with many other toys. Through art, each child is encouraged to be creative and manipulate materials.

Curriculum

Our preschool curriculum is theme based. Story time is spent reading books that teach about our themes. We also take many field trips throughout the year. Through music, students learn to sing in a group, listen to music, and develop a sense of rhythm. Spiritually, each child is encouraged to love God, pray to Him with thankfulness, and develop a positive pattern of living. Through daily Bible stories, children learn about the world God created and how He loves and cares for them. A nutritious snack is provided by the parents of the preschool children. Part of the morning is spent in outdoor or indoor recess time depending on the weather. The school maintains a delicate balance between control and freedom and between formal and informal activities. The total morning's program is planned to provide a rhythm of active and calm periods to meet both physical and emotional needs.

Objectives
  • To develop in each child an understanding of Christ's love and forgiveness.
  • To provide a variety of experiences and materials to enable each child to grow at his/her own rate of development.
  • To maintain a caring atmosphere where each child is loved and accepted as a unique individual.

Philosophy

A Christian preschool is a very effective agency for teaching Christian love through example and experience. It provides time for quality education and training in a warm and friendly atmosphere where preschool children can learn to play creatively with one another. It provides an opportunity for Christian principles to be applied to daily activities. Each child develops skills and self-reliance at his/her own rate of progress. Teachers exhibiting Christian love provide a school where children develop meaningful relationships.
